Manon Mollé, who won a silver medal for France in the European Team Championships, reveals how crossfit changed her body to become stronger and more dynamic for golf. She encourages all European citizens to #BeActive.

Who introduced you to sport and what sports did you try when you were younger?

My whole family introduced me to sport and we were all very active. I used to do many sports like tennis, soccer, basketball, rollerskating, swimming and golf. I liked to be active and to always have something to do, I could not stay still!

What about sport makes you happy?

The thing that makes me happy about sport is the effort that you have to put into it. It feels so great when you give 100% of yourself during the effort. Pushing yourself but also going beyond your limits is something that I am looking for every time I do an activity.

Besides golf, what sports do you do actively and why?

Besides golf I do some crossfit. I discovered it about a year ago and I totally loved it even though I was a bit afraid at the beginning. Other than that, I love to go to the gym but also do fun activities such as hiking.

What positive effects does a sporty lifestyle have?

It gives me so much energy. It always feels good to sweat all the things out and it helps you free your mind.

What does the #BeActive campaign mean to you and why do you support it?

I strongly support the #Beactive campaign because it is important for all of us to have an active lifestyle. Sport makes you healthy and active but also happy! A good thing about sport is that you also meet other people and you are not alone. #Beactive is an amazing campaign to give people inspiration and good advice.

How do you use your position to help inspire other people to have an active lifestyle?

Communication is the key because I always take the time to chat with people about how I manage my lifestyle, how important it is to always be active, to have an healthy life and good spirit.

Do you want to share a story on how your active lifestyle helped you to overcome a problem?

I think the day I started crossfit it totally changed myself both physically and mentally. Physically, because I have seen my body change so much for the better. I have become more powerful, stronger and a lot more dynamic. Mentally, because crossfit helps you go beyond your limits. You have no other choice than to finish what you have started once you step into the room. The good thing is that you are not the only one suffering for an hour! Crossfit helped me a lot during the Lalla Aicha Tour School Pre-qualifier in November and the final stage in December 2017 in Morocco. I was very stressed out and terrified on the first tee so I remembered how I was during my crossfit session. I knew what I was capable of and I was ready to fight and to play good golf!
