The 2013 European Solheim Cup Captain Liselotte Neumann, better known as ‘Lotta’, will visit the Ljungbyhed Park PGA Ladies Open, taking place on the LET Access Series from 16-18 May this week.

Lotta will be on site at Ljungbyhed Golfclub on the last day of the tournament for the conclusion of the women’s Swedish PGA Championship and for the start of the largest golf camp for girls in Sweden aged 13-18, which will be hosted at the same venue from May 18-20.

Lotta will be one of a few coaches on site to guide, help and inspire the girls to continue playing golf. It is the second year that the Swedish Golf Federation camp will be held with Lotta as an ambassador and inspiration. A total of 90 girls aged 13-18, just under the national team level, will come together to develop their games and have fun.

Lotta will forever hold a place in the Swedish golf history books, having been the first Swede to capture a major championship at the 1988 U.S. Women’s Open, the same year she was named Rookie of the Year on the LPGA Tour.

Lotta will inform the young golfers about her life as a professional golfer, giving her tips for training and tournaments.

The Swedish Golf Federation considers it extremely important to use Swedish golf stars in training camps and other activities to inspire, encourage and demonstrate skills to the younger players that have the same dreams and aspirations.
