Lexi Thompson and Sophie Gustafson: the winning pair!

Sophie Gustafson and Alexis Thompson combined effectively to win the Omega Dubai Ladies Masters Challenge Match played at the par-3 course of the Emirates Golf Club on Monday.

The duo carded an impressive four-under-par 23 to beat the team of Laura Davies and Melissa Reid by one shot. The US pairing of Michelle Wie and Christina Kim settled for third on one-under 26 in the match which followed the greensomes format.

Watched by a number of enthusiastic fans, the match saw the six marquee players, who headlines the star cast for the season-ending Ladies European Tour event, put on a clinic on short game, even though it was billed as a fun affair.
