Tian Hong had a hole in one on the 153-yard par-three third hole using a 5-iron in the early stages of the second round at the Suzhou Taihu Ladies Open in China.

It took the 26-year-old second year China Ladies Professional Golf Association member to level par for the tournament and well inside the projected cut mark to the leading 60 professionals and those tied.

Shanxi player Tian Hong turned pro in 2009 and stood out immediately in her first China LPGA Tour season, winning the rookie-of-the-year award for 2010. Tian was runner-up at the 2011 Shanghai Classic and captured her first victory as a pro at this year’s Yantai Yangmadao Challenge, leading the tournament from start to finish.

Hong played in overcast and rainy conditions at Suzhou Taihu International Golf Club on Saturday morning when she made the second ace of the tournament, following Thailand’s Patcharajutar Kongkraphan, who aced the 17th in round one.
