Overnight leader Becky Morgan continued her fine form at the UniCredit Ladies German Open presented by Audi on Friday morning. The Welsh 36-year-old carded five birdies and two bogeys on a second day of blazing sunshine at Golfpark Gut Häusern near Munich.

She added a three under par round of 69 to her opening 65 to set the halfway target at 10 under par.

Finland’s Minea Blomqvist, playing in the afternoon, made three straight birdies from the 11th to get to eight under after four holes played today.

Australian Nikki Garrett and Spain’s Tania Elosegui were in the clubhouse on seven under after second rounds of 68 and 70 respectively.

Virginie Lagoutte-Clement and Diana Luna are playing in the afternoon and were at seven under early in their rounds.

Germany’s Caroline Masson received a warm reception from the bustling home galleries and from the media after shooting a five under par 67 to charge up the leader board at six under par alongside Caroline Hedwall (71) and Felicity Johnson (69). Melissa Reid (70), Georgina Simpson (70) and Margherita Rigon (73) are five strokes off the pace, a shot further behind.

The 2010 champion Laura Davies started her round at 1.30pm and eagled the third to get to five under. Her playing partner, Lexi Thompson, started with a double bogey at the first and bogeyed the third to slip back to five over so will be fighting to make the weekend. The cut is hovering around level par, but the lowest cut on the Ladies European Tour this year was four under par at the ANZ Ladies Masters in Australia.
