Other French hopefuls include Anne-Lise Caudal, the 2008 Portugal Ladies Open champion, currently 17th on the Henderson Money List. After a difficult start to the season, the 26-year-old from the Basque country has started to post stronger results with three top ten finishes including third at the Tenerife Ladies Open and fourth at the S4C Wales Ladies Championship of Europe.
Jade Schaeffer, who lives nearby in Paris, will also be fired up for the tournament. Ranked 34th on the Henderson Money List, she will be aiming for a second title after claiming her first victory in Germany last year.
Caroline Afonso, winner of the Generali Ladies Tour, with two tournament victories, will also be a patriotic competitor along with Lucie André, who was the best amateur on the same tour.
The 22-year-old from Bourg-en-Bresse tied for 23rd at the Lalla Meryem Cup in Morocco in March and tied for 31st in Germany in 2009. This is her third appearance in the Open de France Féminin and her seventh appearance on the Ladies European Tour.
The first round of the Open de France Féminin gets underway at 8am on Thursday, with the last tee time at 2pm. Lagoutte-Clement will tee off from the 10th at 1.10pm alongside the 2008 champion Anja Monke from Germany and Vikki Laing from Scotland, followed 10 minutes later by South African Lee-Anne Pace, England’s Laura Davies and Anne-Lise Caudal. There will be a cut to the leading 60 professional players and ties on Friday evening after two rounds.
