I know that the girls will enjoy it, because the course is challenging but fair set in beautiful scenery of the National Park of Low Tatras surrounded by mountains. I am very happy about this new edition to LET schedule and I hope the tournament will attract the best European lady golfers!”
The Ladies Slovak Open will see 126 players compete over four rounds of stroke play for a purse of €350,000, with a first prize of €52,500.
Stephen John Flanagan, CEO of the promoter’s agency Quirit SK, believes that the announcement is the most important step for the development of women’s golf in the country. “We have witnessed huge progress in women’s golf in Slovakia over the past three to four years. I am sure that the tournament will have a positive impact on the golf resort and on the Central European region as well. It’s an exclusive opportunity for all of us,” he said.
Flanagan, who was the promoter of this year’s PGA European Tour Moravia Silesia Open 2009 in the Czech Republic, will also bring the Ladies European Tour to the Czech Republic in 2011.
