Strong colours, lively patterns

The outfits have a different colour for every day of the week; strong colours like lipstick, apple green and lilac, mixed with white. Patterns such as spots and stripes lend a lively and sporty feeling to the clean and fresh designs.

“In addition we have secret weapon for Sunday’s single matches on the final day,” said Chris Mattsson, head designer for Abacus. “Both the public and the American players will find it hard to keep their eyes on the ball!”

“I’ve played and won in the Sunday colours before, so I’m hoping it will bring us luck here as well,” explained Alison Nicholas.

An important channel to the market

Sponsoring the European team is important for Abacus.

“This Solheim Cup means we get exposure to consumers on all markets,” says Abacus’ Managing Director Sven-Olof Karlsson; “Particularly the American market which is new territory for us.”

During 2009 Abacus is also the Official Clothing Supplier to The European Team in the PING Junior Solheim Cup as well as all those employed by the Ladies European Tour.
