The Ladies German Open has featured on the Ladies European Tour schedule on 15 previous occasions, the last of which was when Karine Icher triumphed at the Palmerston Ladies German Open on The Nick Faldo Course, Bad Saarow, Berlin, in 2001. Previously the Ladies German Open was staged for eight consecutive years from 1984-1991 and returned to the LET schedule for seven consecutive years from 1995-2001.
In addition to HypoVereinsbank and AUDI, the 2008 Ladies German Open is being supported by Pioneer Investments, Fürst von Metternich and media partner Süddeutsche Zeitung.
