“I’m here to get in form and whatever happens, happens,” said Tinning. “I don’t have too many expectations but it would be good to start the season well and of course I want to be in shape to defend my title in Italy.”
Tinning earned €204,672.62 euros in 15 events in 2005 and finished tied for 42nd position in the Weetabix Women’s British Open when the tournament was played at Royal Birkdale.
Currently in pole position on the New Star Money List, Gwladys Nocera from France has earned €144,156.91 in five events in 2006 and, after winning the Deutsche Bank Ladies Swiss Open two week’s ago, she is the favourite at this week’s KLM Ladies Open. She has already accumulated four top tens in five starts this season.
Elisa Serramia from Spain, the 2005 Ryder Cup Wales Rookie of the Year, won a special hole-in-one contest at the official opening of the tournament and the win bodes well for the 21-year-old from Barcelona, who won two business class air tickets to any destination of her choice, courtesy of the tournament’s title sponsor, KLM.
Virginie Lagoutte of France defends the title she won last year at Kennemer G&CC after a play-off against Eleanor Pilgrim and she is one of 126 players in the hunt for the €24,750 first prize this week.

Nijenhuis lives a two hour drive away from the course, which she last played as an amateur and she hopes for a top ten finish in the tournament.
After her practice round, Nijenhuis admitted that she was smitten with Eindhovensche Golf, although with cold temperatures and swirling winds this week; she predicted it would provide a stern challenge.
