“We are very much looking forward to it and to making what is already a great event even better. I hope tournament players like Open champion Karen Stupples will enjoy competing here, and I particularly wish Karen well in the event as a local girl.”

Earlier this week, the Robe di Kappa Ladies European Tour (LET) announced that the 2005 tournament schedule will be the strongest in its 25-year-history with a total prize fund approaching €9m in a calendar featuring 20 events.

The conclusion of the deal for Chart Hills to host the Ladies English Open is a great boost for the tour.

Karen Lunn, Chairman of the Ladies European Tour said: “This is fantastic news for the Tour and women’s golf in England. With the very best players heading to Chart Hills next summer, the galleries are sure to be in for a treat at one of the nations finest golf courses.

“With a 2005 schedule looking so healthy, having this popular event on our schedule for the next five years highlights the growth and prosperity of women’s golf and I’m sure with the backing of Leaderboard this event will grow into one of our flagship tournaments in the years to come.”
