(Tenerife, May 1 2002) Europe’s top women golfers return to action on the 2002 Evian Ladies European Tour in the Euro200,000 Tenerife Ladies Open at the extremely windy Golf del Sur venue starting Thursday.
Making a welcome comeback to the Tour after recurring injury is England’s Solheim Cup heroine Trish Johnson. Having missed the first two events in Australia, the 36-year-old from Bristol has been itching to get back into competitive golf after an enforced layoff with tennis elbow and this season, she plans to fight her way into The Solheim Cup team for a record seventh time.

2002 Tour school winner Ghilain, a pint sized 24-year-old from Brussels, has played for the Belgian National Team since she was 14-years-old. A crisp ball striker, with the ability to control her nerves under intense pressure indicates that we may have another newcomer to the winner’s circle in 2002.
Juul, the 1997 British Amateur strokeplay champion, arrives on Tour with a comprehensive amateur record. The 25-year-old from Esbjerg cut her teeth on the American collegiate golf circuit, representing San Jose State to NCAA level while studying for her Masters degree in Chemical Engineering.
Acting on good advice from English coach James Petts, Juul took the plunge to turn professional and finished second at Tour school.
And Boden, fourth at Tour school, entered the paid ranks in June 2001 and immediately made an impact on the Swedish Telia Tour. The 23-year-old graduated from Oklahoma State in Anatomy and Physiology, and racked up two NCAA 1st team All American titles, before winning three times from six starts in 2001 to clinch the Telia order of merit.
