The Ladies European Tour Membership approved governance reforms are now complete, with the appointment of three new non-executive directors.
The LET Board announces today that it has appointed Manuel Biota, Enrique López de Ceballos Reyna and Alastair Ruxton as non-executive directors, joining player directors Helen Alfredsson, Marta Figueras-Dotti, Sophie Giquel-Bettan, Chloé Leurquin and Liz Young.
Manuel Biota is a French businessman who has a strong commercial background, having studied for a BA in Business Administration. He comes from a retail background in major consumer outlets, and is the former CEO of Blue Green, a business that manages numerous golf courses in France.
Enrique López de Ceballos Reyna is a Spanish tax and commercial lawyer with broad international business experience. He has a range of financial experience and has worked and advised on commercial, operational, regulatory and governance areas within the sports industry.
Alastair Ruxton is a strategic advisor in the global sport and entertainment sectors. He originally trained as a lawyer in London and has subsequently spent 15 years working on events, including nine years with the London Organising Committee of the 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games. He was COO, Falcon & Associates for almost five years in Dubai and spent two of those years as Managing Director of Falcon Golf, returning to the UK at the end of 2017 to found his own consultancy business, Polygon Events.
To conform with the new governance requirement to clearly separate the roles of governance and management, the Board has elected Marta Figueras-Dotti as its new non-executive Chair and has asked the outgoing Chairman, Mark Lichtenhein, to continue in his executive role as CEO.
The LET governance reforms and a new constitution were approved in an extraordinary general meeting at Buckinghamshire Golf Club in May, to align with the contemporary international best governance practice in the UK, EU and as required by the IOC.
The reforms underline the organisation’s commitment to continuous improvement and governance standards and will help to ensure that the LET is a modern and progressive sports rights owner at a time of rapid change in the industry.
