(Arras, France June 23 2002) Lynnette Brooky from New Zealand produced a faultless six under par 66 and breezed to a five shot victory in the Open de Dames France at Golf d’Arras in the Pas de Calais region of Northern France.
The 34-year-old from Wellington carded an eagle and four birdies in a scintillating display of accuracy, to post 16 under par and earn €41,250 for her second career victory after the 1998 Austrian Open.

And with help from a Psychic and a psychiatrist, Brooky turned to the Tour physio Tracy Guy, who volunteered to caddie for the final round.
“Tracy was brilliant today,” added Brooky. “She was out there telling me jokes and keeping me from being nervous and the only time I thought I was going to three putt, at the 12th, she lined me up, I hit the putt and rolled it in. ”
Marti moved up three places to sixth in the 2002 Solheim Cup rankings and Monnet, Icher and Tinning all gained points with top ten finishes, and according to Solheim Cup Captain Dale Reid, players who have more than 140 points will almost be assured of a spot in the team to face the USA at Interlachen in September.
“The top three are definitely in now,” said Reid, who watched the final round unfold with the media.
“I’m pretty sure the other youngsters will play there way in too, they don’t have far to go. I reckon 130-140 points should be enough to get in the team automatically.”
