The Walker Cup, Ryder Cup, Solheim Cup and Curtis Cup remain on European soil!

Europe has won The Ryder Cup after the greatest comeback in their history.

A brilliant singles display saw them earn a 14 ½ -13 ½ victory over the United States.

Europe came from 10-6 down going into the singles but staged an unbelievable fight back. Martin Kaymer holed a five-footer in the penultimate match against Steve Stricker securing the point to retain the Cup at 14-14 and then, in the last match, Francesco Molinari halved with Tiger Woods to secure a win for Europe at Medinah Country Club in Illinois.

Europe got off to a fast start winning the first five matches. Luke Donald, Ian Poulter, Rory McIlroy, Justin Rose and Paul Lawrie won their matches, as did Sergio Garcia and Lee Westwood.

The Ladies European Tour would like to congratulate Captain José María Olazábal and his team for their stunning victory in the Ryder Cup, which has made the whole of Europe proud.

This victory will be remembered for years to come and we hope to continue to prove the strength of European golf at The 2013 Solheim Cup in Colorado.

Rory McIlroy said that the celebration party would be off the charts and we hope that everyone involved in Europe’s success enjoys the unbelievable win!
