Davies restored English pride with a stunning victory over two Australians to claim the $Aus120,000 first prize at the rain-shortened 54-hole ANZ Ladies Masters at Royal Pines GC.
The 39-year-old from Surrey was in vintage form as she carded a scintillating final round four under par 68 to add to her opening rounds of 67 and 68 to finish on 13 under par, one shot clear of four time ANZ Masters winner Karrie Webb, who had a 70 and 24-year-old rookie Rebecca Stevenson, who matched Davies’ 68 by holing from fully 70 feet for birdie at the final hole.
