(Tytherington, Cheshire February 13 2004) The Ladies European Tour (LET) announced today that the venue of the 2004 Ladies English Open, which will take place from July 9-11 will be the Nick Faldo designed Chart Hills GC in Biddenden, near Ashford in Kent.

The Ladies English Open makes a welcome return to the Tour after a break of some eight years, when in 1996, England’s Laura Davies won the title at the Oxfordshire GC.

“I’m thrilled that we have an English Open back on the schedule again and Chart Hills has proved to be a fitting venue in the past,” said Ian Randell, Chief Executive of the LET.

“It’s another opportunity to highlight the best of women’s golf to the English public who have waited a long time to have another event of this stature and I’m sure it will be an unqualified success.”

The Tour last visited Chart Hills in 2000 when New Zealander Gina Scott emerged victorious in a playoff against Italy’s Isabella Maconi for the Kronenbourg 1664 Chart Hills Classic. And five years previously, England’s own Lora Fairclough snared her second Tour title there at the Ford Golf Classic.
