Final round play is underway at the ABN AMRO Ladies Open at Golfclub Broekpolder in Rotterdam. Second year LET player Florentyna Parker of England started the day with a two shot lead after shooting a career best six under par 66 in the second round. She bogeyed the opening par-four but was back to seven under for the tournament with a birdie at the par five third, before dropping another shot at the par four fifth hole.
Denmark’s Malene Jorgensen was in a tie for second at five under after three birdies in her first six holes, along with the 2005 champion Virginie Lagoutte-Clement from France, who started with four steady pars, Italian Sophie Sandolo after six holes and Scotland’s Krystle Caithness, who had a hole in one at the fourth.
Hers was the fifth ace on the Ladies European Tour this season, but there was no prize. It put her two shots behind the leader but she bogeyed the next hole, before picking up a shot at the sixth.
Last week’s Allianz Ladies Slovak Open winner Maria Hernandez of Spain is also making a charge, after an eagle and a birdie on the front nine.
South Korean LET rookie Jeehae Lee shot a women’s professional course record of seven under 65 with five birdies and a tap-in eagle at the par five third, for her best ever score. She finished at three under par in total.
