At a press conference on June 21st 2012 at the Evian Masters Golf Club, tournament director Jacques Bungert announced the names of the first four of 10 players to receive Wild Cards for the 2012 Evian Masters presented by Société Générale.

They are:

Anaïs Maggetti, Switzerland

21 years of age, this young Swiss player is embarking on the first year of her professional career on the Ladies European Tour. After achieving numerous successes as an amateur, which involved her travelling to Florida, she promises to join the club of major European players. Sharmila Nicollet, India

21-year old Indian player Sharmila Nicollet, who is playing her first season on the Ladies European Tour, was India’s highest ranked woman golfer in 2011 and is taking part in the Evian Masters for the second time.

Li Jiayun

Xiyu Lin, China

At just 16 years of age, Xiyu Lin is China’s youngest professional woman golfer. Having qualified for the US Women’s Open this year, she is familiar with the Evian Masters course, having played on it during the 2009 Evian Masters Junior Cup.

Li Jiayun, China

This 23-year old Chinese player is captain of the Chinese national team, and has a Half-Card for the 2012 Japanese Tour. She is one of the few Chinese players to have reached the Final Qualifying School for the Ladies European Tour in 2012, but was ultimately not able to join the tour.
