(Porthcawl, August 25 2002) Sweden’s Asa Gottmo fired a final round two under par 71 to snatch the £60,000 winners cheque at the Wales WPGA Championship of Europe at Royal Porthcawl GC.
The 31-year-old form Kalmar finished on seven under par after four rounds, two shots clear of compatriot Maria Hjorth, whose final round 72 earned her outright second and a place in the top seven automatic standings for The 2002 Solheim Cup.
