Thailand’s Patcharajutar Kongkraphan recorded a hole-in-one during the first round of the Suzhou Taihu Ladies Open.

The 19-year-old from Bangkok, otherwise known as ‘PK’, used her 50 degree wedge to ace the 127-yard par-three 17th hole at Suzhou Taihu International Golf Club.

It was PK’s ninth ever hole-in-one and her third during competition, but first at an event sanctioned by the Ladies European Tour.

She said: “It was so exciting. I saw it drop, bounce once and go into the hole like basketball.”

The China Ladies Professional Golf Association and Ladies Asian Golf Tour member is playing in the final stage of LPGA Q School in America next month and will be one to watch in the field.

She demonstrated her talent with a tie for fifth at the previous week’s Sanya Ladies Open in Hainan, where she fired rounds of 68, 69 and 73 for a six under par total.
