The Ladies European Tour, in association with Official Clothing Supplier Abacus, is delighted to announce that The 2009 European Solheim Cup Team clothing collection will be on sale at the Ricoh Women’s British Open at Royal Lytham and St Annes Golf Club, England, from Monday 27th July.

The collection includes seven different outfits, with one for every day of the golfing week. All seven outfits will be worn by the European team when they attempt to capture The Cup for the first time on US soil at Rich Harvest Farms, Illinois, from 21st -23rd August 2009.

As well as dressing the women’s European Solheim Cup Team, Abacus will also clothe The PING Junior Solheim Cup Team, due to represent Europe at nearby Aurora Country Club from 18-19th August.

Swedish company Abacus was the Official Clothing Supplier to both The European Solheim Cup Team and PING Junior Solheim Cup teams in Sweden in 2007 and the company also continues as the Official Clothing Supplier to the Ladies European Tour.

“We are delighted to have Abacus as the Official Clothing Supplier to The 2009 European Solheim Cup and PING Junior Solheim Cup teams once again following a successful partnership in 2007,” said Mark Casey, Director of Operations and The Solheim Cup for the Ladies European Tour.

“It is only natural that players want to emulate their role models and with this arrangement, golf fans will be able to support European Captain Alison Nicholas and her team by wearing the same brand of clothing as the established competitors. The Ricoh Women’s British Open will be an extremely exciting event with the teams being announced following the conclusion of play on Sunday 2nd August.”

The collection is attractive, fashion-based and creates a distinctive team feeling. Moreover, the conditions at The 2007 Solheim Cup in Halmstad, Sweden, made it clear that the clothes need to work in all possible conditions, which is why the prizewinning Pitch Rainwear will again be included in this year’s collection.
