Matharu – leading Brit

Kiran Matharu
Q. Did you enjoy your round?
Matharu: It went well today, especially on the back nine. I started off with a few good putts for saves and then I started playing better.
Q. Is this the best round of the year?
Matharu: Yeah, four-under. It’s my lowest score as well. I am quite happy with that.
Q. The bogey on the final hole was the only blot on the card wasn’t it?
Matharu: Yeah, it’s a shame. The second shot was downwind then it changed and it was a bit difficult to judge so I pulled it a bit.
Q. Other than that, pleased?
Matharu: Yeah, I only made one other bogey.
Q. What will you work on?
Matharu: A bit of everything really. I had 29 putts, so I putted well. I will just try and work on hitting it better.
Q. Does the course suit your game?
Matharu: I carry it quite far on my drives so it is an advantage for me. The greens are fast so I enjoy that.
Margherita Rigon
Q. How do you think it went out there today?
Rigon: I finished on -3 eventually. I double bogeyed the 17th. I was hitting a three iron to the green and I pulled it. It was a bad bounce and it went out.
Q. Slightly disappointing then?
Rigon: Yes, because I think it is one of the easier holes on the course. It is a short par-five that you can make in two.
Q. What will you practice?
Rigon: Now? Long irons and a few chip and putts.
Q. Did you have a local caddie?
Rigon: Yes. He plays in Helsinki, but he’s not a member here.
