4. Favourite part of being a member of the European Solheim Cup team: It is such an honour to represent my home country and the continent of Europe.
5. Favourite moment in Solheim Cup history: Watching the final day on site in Barsebäck 2003.
6. Tell us something about the country you are from: Everyone is not tall, blonde and blue eyed.

8. Is there a European athlete that has inspired you and why? Annika Sörenstam for her hard work and dedication.

2. Name your favourite European city and why: Rome. That’s where I come from and it is the most beautiful.

2. Name your favourite European city and why? London, because of the atmosphere and buzz
3. Favourite part of being a member of the European Solheim Cup team is? Being part of a team
4. Favourite moment in Solheim Cup history? When Laura Davies chipped in on 16th hole par 3 at Halmstad for a par!
5. Tell us something unique about the country you are from? Only 2% of the population speak the language.
6. What languages do you speak and are there any you’d like to learn? I speak Welsh and English but would also like to learn Spanish.

Janice Moodie – Scotland

5. Favourite moment in Solheim Cup history: Victory in 2000 at Loch Lomond in my home country.
6. Tell us something about the country you are from: Unique, our traditional dish is haggis but my favourite meal is Tikka Masala.

8. Is there a European athlete that has inspired you and why? Daly Thompson in the Olympics, I played is computer game.

Suzann Pettersen – Norway


1. What ONE word would you use to describe the Solheim Cup? Intense
2. Name your favourite European city and why: Rome in Italy. It’s just an old and historical city with lots of character; beautiful as well.
3. Favourite part of being a member of the European Solheim Cup team is… teaming up with good friends and playing our hearts out for each other.
4. Favourite moment in Solheim Cup history: Solheim cup ‘03, Barseback. Saturday’s fourball. Annika and myself played Laura Diaz and Kelly Robbins. The last two holes were electrical. Walking up 18th green next to Annika and later on make my putt to win the match: memories for life. The setting was unreal.
5. Tell us something unique about the country you are from… our nature is fantastic. All the fjords and mountains are just stunning.
6. What languages do you speak and are there any you’d like to learn? I speak obviously Norwegian, then English as my second , had German in school for 7 years, so I understand most of that and a little bit of Spanish.
7. Is there a European athlete that has inspired you and why? Kjetil Andre Amodt, former Norwegian Alpine skiier. His passion, work ethic and dedication. Seeing him growing up, and then later getting to know him has been a huge inspiration.

Gwladys Nocera – France


1. What ONE word would you use to describe the Solheim Cup? Magical
2. Name your favourite European city and why: Biarritz, because it’s still pretty pure and natural, along the ocean. Where you can surf in the summer and ski in the winter.
3. Favourite European landmark: The Eiffel Tower
4. Favourite part of being a member of the European Solheim Cup team: Do everything as a team, win as a team.
5. Favourite moment in Solheim Cup history: When I teed off on my first match at the ‘05 Solheim Cup. I was shaking so much that I didn’t know if I will be able to just put the ball on the tee.
6. Tell us something about the country you are from: France is one of the most beautiful countries in the world. It has everything: ocean, sea, mountains, country side, great food, great wines, history.
7. What languages do you speak? French, English and I understand Spanish but find it hard to speak it. So I would love to be able to be fluent in Spanish and Italian.
8. Is there a European athlete that has inspired you and why? Ballesteros was big inspiration growing up, then Yannick Noah (Rolland Garros champion), Jean Pierre Rive a rugby player in the later 80s. Today I will say that Roger Federer is my biggest inspiration… All of them because they are hard workers and talented athletes and because they’ve achieved their dreams.

Sophie Gustafson – Sweden


1. What ONE word would you use to describe the Solheim Cup? Passion
2. Name your favourite European city and why: My little hometown of Särö, just south of Gothenburg. It’s a wonderful seaside town that is a great place to be during the summer.
3. Favourite European landmark: Parthenon in Athens.
4. Favourite part of being a member of the European Solheim Cup team: The fun we have.
5. Favourite moment in Solheim Cup history: Winning in Barsebäck in 2003
6. Tell us something about the country you are from: We have a 99% literacy rate
7. What languages do you speak? Swedish and English. I’d like to know Spanish.
8. Is there a European athlete that has inspired you and why? Seve because of his fire and passion.

Tania Elosegui – Spain


1. What ONE word would you use to describe the Solheim Cup: INTENSE
2. Name your favourite European city and why:San Sebastian. From my point of the view is the most beautiful city in Spain. I was born in San Sebastian 27 years ago. I spent my whole life there and I feel so attached to it. I really like the lifestyle of the city and I’ve got so many special places to be. For all that is my favourite.
3. Name your favourite European landmark: Il Duomo in Florencia.
4. Favourite part of being a member of the European Solheim Cup team is…Playing as a team because golf is a very individual sport so it is great to play for the team and as a team.
5. Favourite moment in Solheim Cup history: Any year that the Europeans has won has been very special to me.
6. Tell us something unique about the country you are from: The food such as “paella”, “tapas”, “pintxos”, “spanish omelette”, the cured ham and of course the wine: “La Rioja wine”. I would also say the culture around the bull which is quite unique even if in South America there is a quite similar passion but not as big as in Spain.
7. What languages do you speak and are there any you’d like to learn? I speak Spanish, French and English and would like to learn Italian.
8. Is there a European athlete that has inspired you and why? Jose Maria Olazabal. He is from my home club and since I was little he’s been someone to learn from. Always practicing hard, so focused and overcoming a 2 year disease to win a major afterwards.
