Three-time European Tour winner Richard Green is on the ladies’ tour this week, caddying for Norwegian Marianne Skarpnord at the Deutsche Bank Ladies Swiss Open at Golf Gerre Losone in Ticino.

The 40-year-old Australian, who won the Portugal Masters in October, said that he is hoping to take some tips back to the men’s circuit when he plays at the BMW International Open in Munich next week.

In the mean time he plans to help Skarpnord make a successful return from a rib and shoulder injury.

The 25-year-old from Sarpsborg is playing in her first tournament since the Pegasus New Zealand Women’s Open in February, having withdrawn from the last eight events on the LET schedule.

Her doctor, Ola Sand, explained that her injury was common among rowers and athletes using the arms and upper body: “Marianne has got a stress injury in 5. costa (rib), the soft tissue above (muscles) and the lower third of scapula (shoulder blade). There is a kind of a gliding joint here.”

Skarpnord claimed the first of her two LET victories at the 2009 Deutsche Bank Ladies Swiss Open, before playing the majority of the 2010 season in America.
