Johnson, who is aiming for her 18th career victory, had a fast start with two birdies followed by an eagle, at the par-five third hole playing in the group before Taylor.
“I was four under after three, but I’m a bit disappointed with the way I finished because I had the perfect start,” Johnson admitted.
“I had lots of birdies, then lots of bogeys. I’ve just got to think more, not about distance, but where to land it.”
