IN-KYUNG KIM
Q. You started the day two shots ahead, finished three shots ahead, I imagine you are pretty satisfied. How do you feel about your play?
IN KYUNG KIM: I’m very happy with how I played today. I played very solid again. I made some putts and left some putts, but I tried hard, and I think 5 under is not bad.
Q. The par you made at 16, Colin Montgomerie always tells us, “It’s not the birdies I make, it’s the bogey I don’t make.” The par save at 16 was very important because you went on to birdie 17.
IN KYUNG KIM: 16, if you have a good drive, you have a chance to get close or make birdie. But I pulled it left. I didn’t know I have that shot, but I pulled that one really bad.
And yeah, even though chipping wasn’t easy, because I had a big hill, the pin was in the back. Very fortunate to make par. Yeah, I had the momentum going onto 17.
Q. What’s pleased you most about your game over these three rounds?
IN KYUNG KIM: Actually, well, yesterday, I hit a lot of perfect shots and today I had some in between clubs. But I think I’m hitting the ball better than on the Pro Am or the practise rounds. So I’m very pleased with that.
Q. What would it mean to you to come out on top tomorrow and win your first Ladies European Tour event?
IN KYUNG KIM: Well, it means a lot. I’m very thankful they invite me to the OMEGA Dubai Ladies Masters. I’m just very happy to be here and I’m just having a lot of fun and looking forward to it.
Q. Does the weather make any difference, because in Dubai, it doesn’t rain.
IN KYUNG KIM: Well, that’s what I heard. Now, it rains in the desert, now I know. But we expected rain a little. Yeah, it rained quite a bit. It didn’t really stop the whole way.
But it wasn’t really affecting.
Q. So can you tell me about the birdies, how long the putts were?
IN KYUNG KIM: Second hole, actually I chipped in. It wasn’t far. Maybe 20 feet away.
Third, almost got on the green and I used the putter, so 2 putt.
8, well, I pulled it left in the bunker and had a good bunker shot. Just didn’t make the putt.
9, had a good drive with 3 wood and 7 iron in and made the putt.
13, actually on the green in three shots with a wedge and make putts from another 15 or 12 feet.
14, hit a good drive. I usually hit it into the green with a long iron but I had 8 iron today and get it closer, I had a chance.
Q. Two metres?
IN KYUNG KIM: I don’t know, six, seven feet.
And then wedge in, 115 and made a putt from 15 feet.
Q. In the situation going into the final day with the lead, is this a normal thing for you?
IN KYUNG KIM: Well, even though you’re ahead, I’ve got to play my game. I have to play, you know, what the golf course gives me, and go out there and have some fun. You know, nothing is easy. Getting better with sleep, actually.
Q. What do you like doing in your spare time?
IN KYUNG KIM: You mean, besides golf? Actually I’m learning guitar. It’s been over a year but yeah, I enjoy playing it with friends.
ANNA NORDQVIST
Q. What was the key to your round today?
ANNA NORDQVIST: Being more aggressive with my irons I would say.
Q. What about the putting; that was pretty good, too, wasn’t it?
ANNA NORDQVIST: Yeah, I had my putting going a little bit. I hit a lot of good putts. A couple of them went in, a couple of them didn’t; so I’m very pleased for today.
Q. Some people say you don’t show very much emotion on the course, and you’re a Swede; would you agree with that?
ANNA NORDQVIST: Yeah, well, the first two days, I was a little bit I was a little bit up and down. I thought I hit a lot of good putts. They didn’t really go in.
Today, I don’t know, I just tried to stay positive, you know.
Q. And how do you feel about the final round? Do you feel that you can win this one?
ANNA NORDQVIST: I’m very excited. I think I was seven behind going into Madrid. Got into the playoff.
So, anything can happen. Just going to shoot a really low score tomorrow.
Q. Rookie of the Year perhaps, do you think?
ANNA NORDQVIST: Hopefully. I’m just going to go out there and play my best and see what happens.
Q. Talking about the Christmas break and hopefully you’ll be smiling; what are you going to be doing after this tournament?
ANNA NORDQVIST: I’m going to go home to Sweden. I haven’t been in a while. See my friends and family and put my golf clubs away for a little bit and just enjoy.
Q. Next year, how can you improve?
ANNA NORDQVIST: I feel like I have a lot of things to work on. Just started to work on my fitness a little bit more. I have a lot of good people, people around me, so I’m just going to stick with my coaches.
Q. Thoughts going into the last day?
ANNA NORDQVIST: I was playing very solid, just trying to keep making putts. I thought I had a couple of good ones coming in and I wasn’t able to make them. But I’m excited for tomorrow.
Q. You always seem so calm; is it more excited inside than you appear in the exterior?
ANNA NORDQVIST: Yeah, I guess.
Q. You’ve had a couple of fantastic wins this year, how can you draw on that experience tomorrow?
ANNA NORDQVIST: Well, I have had a really good year so far. One more round before I get to go on my Christmas break. It will be a good day and lots of fun and I love playing golf in all conditions, so it will be a good challenge for me.
MICHELLE WIE
Q. How do you feel about your round today?
MICHELLE WIE: It was just frustrating. I didn’t get any putts in. Probably played pretty solidly. Just couldn’t get anything going in.
Q. You don’t know why?
MICHELLE WIE: Yeah, just a little off here and there. But nothing too bad. Hopefully they will all go in tomorrow.
Q. So what will you do tonight?
MICHELLE WIE: I will be taking an exam, but we’ll see. Just resting I guess.
Q. What time is the exam?
MICHELLE WIE: I don’t know, any time I get back really.
Q. So it’s not like a set time?
MICHELLE WIE: No, I don’t think so.
Q. So anything that you will do for tomorrow a bit more?
MICHELLE WIE: Practise putting.
Q. Your thoughts on a day that didn’t turn out as you hoped?
MICHELLE WIE: I felt like I hit the ball pretty solid. Just not all the putts went in. Hopefully they will all go in tomorrow.
Q. You had a 13 hole spell in the middle of the round where you didn’t make a birdie; other people were; you could see that on the board. Was that frustrating? How do you deal with that?
MICHELLE WIE: Yeah, it was very frustrating, because I was hitting these shots or I had these birdie chances. I had birdie opportunities. I just couldn’t take advantage of them today.
You know, they were just missing the hole a little bit here and there and it was frustrating. But that’s done with and hopefully I can shoot lights out tomorrow.
Q. Do you feel like you were mis reading putts, mis hiting something, something with your stroke? Will you go and work on it? What’s the story?
MICHELLE WIE: I just wasn’t making any. I was a little off here and there, miss hit a couple, miss read a couple. Just didn’t work out.
Q. Six shots behind going into the final round. How will you approach it? Will you be more aggressive from get go?
MICHELLE WIE: I think I’ll just try to make more birdies and try to make more putts and just from the first hole, try to make birdies.
Q. Any homework tonight or just relax?
MICHELLE WIE: Oh, no, I have to take an exam tonight. But after, I will relax.
