Victories for favourites or underdogs; victories by clear margins or playoffs: the spectators at the UniCredit Ladies German Open presented by Audi have witnessed it all and anything is possible again on the sixth occasion of this outstanding professional ladies’ golf tournament which will take place at Golfpark Gut Häusern from 30 May to 2 June. But one thing is clear already: the stars of the Ladies European Tour (LET) will once more give their best performance, and the atmosphere among both players and spectators will be electric.

Gabriele Volz, Tournament Director UniCredit, said: “The UniCredit Ladies German Open presented by Audi 2013 is definitely meant to add a new highlight to the international tournament schedule and even surpass last year’s great success.” This is to be achieved by the high-class field of players that is anticipated, but also by the extensive supporting programme for spectators on site. Accordingly, the public area was extended once more in order to provide an even greater mixture of information and entertainment.

Concerning the players themselves, Nikolaus Peltzer, Tournament Director Deutsche Golf Sport GmbH (DGS) expects to welcome a top-class field: “The Ladies German Open, one of the highlights of the tour, enjoys an excellent reputation among active pros, and on top of that, players can earn valuable points to qualify for the Solheim Cup 2013 that will be held in the US in August.” A crucial incentive for participation is definitely the prize money of 350,000 euros in total, of which the winner alone will receive 50,000 euros. In addition, the champion will be driving home in a new car, as Audi provides the winner with a brand new Q5 worth approximately 50,000 euros. Furthermore, an Audi R8 Spyder will be awarded for a hole in one at the 15th hole this year as well, and all organisers hope that this year will see one of the players succeed at this shot!
