Henrietta Zuel admits that she is a ‘petrol head’ after driving an Audi R8

Henrietta Zuel was one of a large contingent of Ladies European Tour players who were lucky enough to take a one hour test drive in an Audi R8 Spyder 5.2 FSI Quattro R tronic during the first two rounds of the UniCredit Ladies German Open presented by Audi.

The beautiful, flat, open landscape, with acres of yellow oil seed rape flowers all around Gut Häusern, provided the perfect backdrop for a run out in Audi’s top model, with 525 BHP.

Zuel said: “I’m a complete petrol junkie and when I make enough money the R8 is definitely on my wish list, because it’s such a great car: so solid and it sounds insane. It’s like a deep growl; it’s awesome.

“The roads out here are perfect because they are straight and the autobahn has no speed limit. It was the most amazing experience ever!”

She added that she would be happy to drive around in a sponsor wrapped car, some of which have been given to a number of leading players for the week, adding: “I’m sure I could sell some Audis!”

Zuel shared a car with the LET’s osteopath, Adam Olarenshaw, who rated his pilot as a crazy driver, but ‘Henni’ was quick to correct that to: “Crazy but good.”

The other players who signed up to take the top model car for a spin included Melissa Reid, Florentyna Parker, Jade Schaeffer, Sandra Gal, Frances Bondad, Vikki Laing, Stacy Lee Bregman, Claire Queen, Georgina Simpson, Liz Bennett, Kym Larratt, Elisabeth Esterl, Diana D’Alessio and Rachel Jennings, among others.

The 2010 event champion Laura Davies has been given a bright red Audi RS5 for the week, which matches the one she took delivery of a fortnight ago in England, apart from the colour. Hers is silver with a purple tint.
