New Zealander Lynnette Brooky made her first appearance back to golf at the ALPG Tour Championship after breaking her left elbow in a freak accident last November.

After driving to her local post box in Wellington, the 35-year-old French Open champion caught her foot in her handbag getting out of the car, tripped and smashed her elbow on the pavement. She was rushed to hospital and after a lengthy operation which left a six inch scar, Brooky spent Christmas and New Year recuperating.

“It’s good to be back again and the funny thing is that after the operation I don’t seem to be slicing my shots so much!” giggled the comical Antipodean.
