Nobuhle Dlamini from Swaziland holds a two-stroke lead heading into the final round of Pre-Qualifier A of the Ladies European Tour’s Lalla Aicha Tour School at PalmGolf Marrakesh Palmeraie in Morocco.

Although conditions were generally calm on the third day, Dlamini carded a two-over-par 74 for a 54-hole total of three-under-par. Her nearest challengers are Alazne Urizar and Leonor Bessa.

Dlamini birdied the second and seventh but dropped four shots on the eighth, 13th, 15th and 17th holes. She said afterwards: “Today was a little bit up and down. I didn’t hit it so good off the tee box, so I missed quite a lot of fairways and I found the pin placements quite tough today. I missed quite a few greens so I couldn’t really make up and down. I held it together nicely, turned in one-under and played three-over on the back nine. I’ll take it for the day.

“My approach shots were not too bad but it’s hard when you’re coming from the rough. I had a couple of bad lies here and there. I chipped pretty well. On the back nine, I didn’t putt so well. The chipping was good today.

“Tomorrow, like I was doing the first two days, I’m just going to focus on hitting fairways. I’m using my 3-wood quite a lot and it’s working well. The wind wasn’t up today, which should have been easier, but if I hit fairways, then it’s easier with the second shots, so I’m focusing on hitting fairways.”

The top 36 players and ties after four rounds, or 72 holes, will advance to the Final Stage of Lalla Aicha Tour School, to be held at Amelkis Golf Club and PalmGolf Marrakesh Ourika from Friday 16th to Tuesday 20th December, joining those LET members who are already exempt and further players from Pre Qualifiers B and C.

After the Final Stage, the top 5 players will be eligible for Ladies European Tour Membership in Category 5c (or equivalent of Cat. 5c for 2019). Players from 6th to 25th position will be eligible for Membership in Category 8a in 2019.

This is the seventh year of the Ladies European Tour’s Qualifying School in Morocco, renamed Lalla Aicha Tour School in honour of HRH The Late Princess Lalla Aicha.
