Ellen Smets, a 26-year-old Belgian professional who earned her card for the Evian Tour 2003 by finishing 13th at the Qualifying School in Grenoble, was voted Belgian Ladies Golfer of the Year at the Minolta Golf Awards Gala evening in the Château du Lac Hotel in Genval.
