The final round of the Aberdeen Standard Investments Ladies Scottish Open is under way and the leaders have teed off in dreich conditions at Gullane Golf Club.

After the strong winds yesterday, the main challenge today is heavy rain. However, some of the early starters were able to take advantage of the dry conditions and American star Paula Creamer had signed for a five-under-par 66 to climb the leader board before the wet weather set in.

Carlota Ciganda from Spain, the only player in the field to have shot under par rounds for each of the first three days, started strongly with a birdie on the opening par-4, to get within two strokes of the overnight leaders Ariya Jutanugarn and Amy Yang.

There is more than just the trophy at stake today as the winner and the leading three Ladies European Tour members not already exempt will qualify for next week’s Ricoh Women’s British Open at Royal Lytham and St Annes Golf Club in Lancashire, England.

Live television coverage from Gullane starts at 3pm local time today.
