The 27-year-old from Porto spoke to the LET during Rookie Orientation at La Sella Golf Resort in Spain.

When and why did you start to play golf?

I don’t remember starting to play golf because I was too young, maybe three or four years old. I started because my parents played as well and most of my family played.

Who are your sporting role models?

In sport, my role model is Cristiano Ronaldo. He is a complete sports star and puts so much effort and practice in and spends time with his family and with charity. I think he’s a model for sports. In golf, I very much like Sergio Garcia and Rickie Fowler.

What’s your lowest score?

My lowest score was seven-under-par in a course in the Algarve, Morgado. I played the club championship there and that’s when I got the lowest score, just before I turned pro.

What’s your best achievement?

I think my best achievement is being here on the LET. It was a dream come true for me.

What are your goals?

This season I want a full card on the LET and if I can play the qualifiers, hopefully get into a major.

What are your long-term goals?

I have a long-term goal to play in the next Olympic Games, so that’s what I’m working for.

What do you like doing outside golf?

Outside golf, I like going to the movies with my friends and spending time with them, taking photos, watching surfers and that’s it.

Do you have any hidden talents?

I played music when I was a kid. I played cello for five years and now I just play for fun, but I still play.
