The 2018 LET Access Series will conclude in Barcelona with the news that the inaugural Santander Golf Tour LETAS El Prat will be played on November 8-10.

A field of 78 players will play for a purse of 35,000 euros at Real Club de Golf El Prat, which is regarded as one of the finest golf clubs in Spain, having hosted more than 250 top-level national and international championships, including the Spanish Open on 10 occasions.

Di Barnard, Director of the LET Access Series, said: “We are delighted to be ending the season in Spain at such a fabulous venue as Real Club de Golf El Prat, which will be a great test of golf. We also look forward to working with the event promoter, Deporte & Business, who are long-term supporters of the Ladies European Tour and also with Santander, who are strong supporters of women’s golf.”

Pablo Bernárdez Morgado, Director of the Professional Technical Committee for the Spanish Golf Federation, said: “We are delighted to keep supporting LETAS events in Spain. It gives the opportunity to elite amateurs and young professionals to develop their game and become well prepared for the higher tours. Luna Sobrón and María Parra succeeded on the LET Access Series before moving up to the LET and LPGA.”

Now in its ninth year, the LET Access Series is set for a thrilling climax to the 2018 season as the race for the five Ladies European Tour cards and 15 spots at the Final Stage of Lalla Aicha Tour School goes down to the wire. There have already been six first-time winners from five different countries on the LET’s official developmental tour, with Norwegian Marita Engzelius claiming the Terre Blanche Ladies Open, Spain’s own Noemi Jimenez earning the VP Bank Ladies Open title, Astrid Vayson de Pradenne from France winning the Jabra Ladies Open on home soil, Sweden’s Julia Engstrom taking the Viaplay Ladies Finnish Open, Spain’s Carmen Alonso triumphing at the AXA Czech Ladies Challenge and Belgium’s Fanny Cnops winning the Lavaux Ladies Championship in Switzerland. Additionally, Sweden’s Johanna Gustavsson recently claimed her second title at the Ribeira Sacra Patrimonio de la Humanidad International Ladies Open in Spain.

There are five events still to be played, with the Anna Nordqvist Vasteras Ladies Open, Bossey Ladies Championship, Turfman Allerum Open and WPGA International Challenge preceding the Santander Golf Tour LETAS El Prat.

The world-renowned course at RGC El Prat, recently named as one of the 125 Platinum Clubs of the World – Five-star Private Club – is just 35 minutes from the centre of the vibrant Catalan capital Barcelona. With its roots dating back to 1912, it is one of the few clubs to have been granted “Real” or Royal status by King Alonso XIII after his visit.

Real Club de Golf El Prat has played host to some of the biggest names in the game with top stars such as Spanish legends Severiano Ballesteros, José Maria Olazábal and Sergio Garcia, eight-time Major winner Tom Watson, and Tommy Fleetwood having featured there in various tournaments, while Masters champion Sergio Garcia and European Tour star Pablo Larrazábal are both members.
