Stacy Lewis knocked on wood and said she had no issues with scoliosis and her back “really feels pretty good.” Pretty good appears to be the case with her game as well. “My goal every week is to give myself a chance to win and I feel like the way I have played in this season I can win wherever I go,” an upbeat world number three from US said ahead of the Omega Dubai Ladies Masters, starting on Wednesday.“I feel like I have a lot more energy and my game, it’s right there where it needs to be. I finished ten straight top-10s this this season, so there is not too much to complain about,” said Lewis who was diagnosed with scoliosis when she 11, forcing her to wear a back brace 18 hours a day for seven and a half years. She took up golf on the advise of her doctors who always encouraged her to play sports. “The time of the day when I didn’t have to wear braces it was when I went to the golf course and it all started from there,” said Lewis.“My back is not perfectly straight, but it’s at least more manageable. It doesn’t hurt. I have a trainer and I work out every day to stay loose and stay fit,” said the 28-year-old Texan, who won the recent Women’s British Open at St Andrews.“Life hasn’t changed after the British Open, but it did when I got to number one in the world and that’s for sure. Dealing with being in the spotlight, everybody knowing you who you are, it’s definitely different. I have just been trying to learn along the way,” said Lewis who will be the major threat to defending champion Shanshan Feng of China.“Shanshan is really playing well right now and i will definitely have to be on top of my game to beat her. Hopefully, I can give her a bit of run.”
