(Grenoble, France, November 2 2002) Isabella Maconi from Italy rolled in a 30 foot eagle putt at the final hole to snatch victory by one shot at the 2002 Evian Ladies European Tour qualifying school at Golf Grenoble Charmeil.

Hudson – brave display in final round

“I’m really looking forward to getting out there and making some money,” smiled the 24-year-old from Seville.

“I know it’s going to be hard and taking the first steps is going to be difficult. I have to find sponsors and hopefully I can get some and play in the Australian events early in the season.”

Twenty eight players finished higher than two over par and all earned category ten conditional cards for next season including England’s Rebecca Hudson, who put on the bravest display of the week, playing against Doctor’s orders having seriously damaged her neck whilst practising.

The three-time Curtis Cup player could not swing a club before her tee time and thanks to the assistance of the Tour osteopath who massaged her back and followed her for 18 holes, she managed to play and showed massive determination to post a 78 for a six over total and claim the 44th card for next year.
