The strong European team of Celine Boutier, Camille Chevalier, Caroline Hedwall and Carly Booth got off to a winning start in the Skills Challenge, the traditional forerunner to the Hero Women’s Indian Open, played on the 18th hole at the DLF Golf and Country Club.

Europe emerged 3-1 winners over the Rest of the World Team, presented by Sarah Kemp, Beth Allen, Vani Kapoor and Tvesa Malik.

Camille Chevalier set the tone by winning the nearest the pin contest, with an approach shot that ended 12 inches from the hole.

Tvesa Malik won the ‘hit the bike’ challenge, with a Hero scooter positioned on an island in the lake protecting the green.

Celine Boutier won the bunker challenge, splashing out to 18 inches and starred again in the 64 foot putting challenge.

The winning team in each challenge also received Rs. 60,000, which was split equally between all four team members.
